What is Piles (Hemorrhoids)
Piles is a problem in which blood accumulate in the veins of the anus and it becomes very difficult to pass stool due to pain and swelling in it. This is a common disease . This type of problem is seen equally in both men and women. According to the survey, 45% of indians have piles problem. Lets us know in details its type, symptoms, causes and treatment.
Types of Piles
There are two types of piles
- Internal Piles - In this, the warts of piles are inside the anus. When we pass stool, this wart comes out outside the anus. Then slowly he goes inside. Sometimes it is done inside by hand.
- External Piles - It is outside the anal canal or rather it is at the anus which can be seen from outside.
Symptoms of Piles
- Formation of lump near lump.
- Swelling and pain in the anus.
- Redness in the area around the anus.
- Difficulty passing stool.
- Viscous leakage during bowel movement.
- Itching around the anus.
Why Does Piles Happen
When there is pressure on the blood vessels of the anus then this blood vessel swells and blood starts accumulating in it, due to which problems like piles arise. Let us know by which reasons there is pressure on the blood vessel in the anus.
- Constipation - When a person has the problem of constipation, there is a problem in the bowel movement, due to which one has to force the bowel movement, which creates pressure on the blood vessels of the anus and blood gets accumulated in it. It causes piles.
- Pregnant woman - The baby growing in the womb of a pregnant woman grow as they grow. By the way, there is pressure on the anus, due to which there is also the problem of piles.
- By lifting weights - This type of problem also occurs in a person who lifts heavy weights.
- Diarrhea, obesity, having kidney stones, laziness can also be the reason for piles.
Treatment
In the early stages, it can be treated by medicine, but if this problem becomes chronic, then it is treated with surgery or other methods such as the following.
- Rubber Band Ligation - In this procedure, the doctor inserts a device in to the anus, with the help of which the joints of the warts are tied with rubber band so that the blood flow stops. By doing this, the warts gets shrink.
- Haemorrhoidectomy - In this procedure, piles are treated by surgery. In this, the patient is given anesthesia so that the patient does not feel pain. After this, the piles wart is removed by surgery. This is a successful and effective method. There is a risk of passing even after surgery. If we don't follow lifestyle well.
- Stapler (MIPH)Surgery - In this process, the stapler gun is inserted in the anus. After the piles wart comes in the middle of this gun, it is stapled so that the warts around the anus are cut out in the form of ring. After this, the blood flow is stopped by applying a stitch. In this procedure, the patient is given anesthesia. Its wound heal in three to four days.
- Laser Treatment - This is a very advanced treatment. In this, a laser fiber is inserted in to the swollen vein and it is shrink by burning laser technology. In this type of treatment, there is less bleeding and the patient recovers very quickly. For a patient who has had a problem like a cardiac bypass, this type of treatment is enough for the patient
What to do if you have piles
By adopting some measures by which the discomfort caused by piles can be reduced to some extent.
- Excessive water and fluid intake.
- Eat more and more fiber rich food. such as apples, pears,beans,carrot, beets and other green vegetables.
- Cleanse your anus thoroughly.
- Sitting in the bath tub and inhaling vapors in the anus provides relief.
- Do regular exercise and yoga.
What not to do if you have piles
- Don't drink alcohol.
- Avoid spicy food.
- Do not consume too much fat.
- Stay away from junk food or fast food.
- Do not consume red meat and fishes.
- Do not take to bed immediately after eating, walk for a while.
